CITY OF HARVARD
POLICE OFFICER

The Harvard Police Commission is now seeking police officer applicants.  To qualify in the application process, police officer applicants must:

                       Must be at least 21 years of age, not attained age 35 at time of testing

             Be a citizen of the United States

             Possess a valid driver’s license

             High school diploma or GED minimum

             Associate degree preferred

             Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, normal peripheral vision, no impairment of color blindness

             Must have the ability to type 30 wpm

Each applicant must qualify in each of the following: Orientation, Written  Examination, Physical Ability Test and Oral Interview

 Prior to final appointment, applicant must also pass the following: Background Investigation, Polygraph, Psychological Evaluation, Medical Examination, Drug Screen and Credit Check

      $48,151 first year average salary effective 05/01/08

               $50,089 first year average salary effective 05/01/09

TO APPLY Application and instructions must be picked up at the Harvard Police Department, 201 W. Front St., Harvard, IL. There is no fee required to pick up an application packet.  Written or telephone requests for applications will not be honored. Applications will be available beginning October 27, 2008.  Fully completed application must be returned by Monday, December 01, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.

 Applicants must attend a Mandatory orientation meeting at The Harvard City Hall, located at 201 W. Front St., Harvard on Friday evening December 05, 2008, at 6:00 p.m.   Both the physical agility and written exam will be administered the following day, Saturday, December 06, 2008 at 8:30 a.m.
