Spirit of '76 Scholarship Fund Application Committee
The City of Harvard Bicentennial "Spirit of 76" Scholarship was established in 1977 for use of Bi-Centennial Commission funds to create a scholarship fund for the purpose of encouraging and financially assisting eligible and qualified persons to further and pursue their academic or vocational education, training or preparation for their chosen profession, trade, occupation or business.
The Mayor and City Council administer the Scholarship Fund after applications have been examined by the Scholarship Fund Application Committee.
Those who are eligible for the scholarship(s) are all High School Seniors residing within the boundaries of Harvard Community Unit School District No. 50. They will be eligible to receive said scholarship regardless of their financial need. Up to $1,000.00 in scholarship(s) are awarded each year.
To date, sixty-two scholarships have been awarded to high school seniors residing within the boundaries of Harvard Community Unit School District #50.
